About the Opportunity :
The UK Nuclear area within Jacobs provide engineering design, construction, planning, support, survey, design-build, project management and / or program management for our Nuclear Industry clients.
With more than fifty years of experience across the complete nuclear asset lifecycle, we support client delivery and the associated infrastructure requirements at every stage of a project.
As the demand for our services continues to grow, we are now looking to appoint an Electrical Engineer, to provide support for projects within the Site Redevelopment Programme (SRP) at Barrow-in-Furness.
Barrow-in-Furness is home to one of the few shipyards in the world that builds nuclear submarines. The shipyard is currently building Astute-class submarines (97m in length) and is moving into its next generation of submarines, through the production of Dreadnought-class (154m in length) submarine.
To provide the required capabilities to support the Dreadnought production, the site is undergoing redevelopment through the construction of new state of the art facilities and upgrading the existing facilities and buildings.
review and audit of designers for SQEPness and process.
Responsibilities Include :
Managing the review and acceptance of designs within a particular discipline on behalf of the design authority
Supporting the Safety Led Gated Engineering Process and the management of the associated stakeholders.
Auditing designers SQEPness within a particular discipline on behalf of the project
Supporting the Engineering Manager in the development of designs.
Supporting the Programme’s Design Authority Intelligent Customer capability.
Providing assurance to the SCE that all aspects of electrical engineering within a particular discipline have been carried to an acceptable standard
Liaising with other engineering areas of Barrow site to ensure best practice is applied to the engineering of SRP and a common approach and specification where appropriate.
Here's What You'll Need :
What you will have :
In depth knowledge of the electrical engineering discipline
Experience with the design, specification and construction of the built environment.
Experience managing the review and appraisal of engineering documentation / specifications.
Experience working with construction practices within the UK industry, including understanding of UK H&S Regulations, CDM Regulations, Quality and Environmental Control.
An ability to build and maintain effective relationships with multiple stakeholders
Due to the nature of the role, candidates will need to be eligible for high level security clearance.
