You’ll support people with a learning disability, autism or both, at home and in the community to live life in the way they choose.
You don’t necessarily need experience as we provide full training.
Join a well established team in Longwell Green, Bristol. The majority of your time will be supporting six people across two buildings.
You will be part of an experienced and supportive staff team working in a unique and supportive environment where the people we support live in their own flats with access to communal spaces and gardens.
About the role
You’ll support 6 mature adults who have learning disabilities and autism and may communicate through their behaviour; you’ll support them to increase their independence and access to their community.
your day could include supporting the individuals with their interests and going out to the pub and cafes, cooking, cleaning, managing finances and shopping.
You could also support people with daily routines and personal care and to attend health appointments.
If you’re new to social care, we will support you gain the nationally recognised Care Certificate. If you have experience as a care assistant or care worker in a care home, you’ll discover we provide plenty of on-going training, support to achieve relevant qualifications and career progression.
You’ll need good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. Respectful of people’s differences, you can build professional relationships and have a flexible approach.
You can work 24 / 7 shifts including weekends and evenings / nights. A full driving licence is essential for this role.
