Community Playworker - Reading Play Service
Part Time - 28 Hours Per Week
About Us :
Reading Play is looking for a creative, energetic and highly motivated Community play practitioners to join their team.
You will need to be both passionate about your work and excited about the opportunity to deliver a wide variety of different play sessions to children throughout the Reading Borough, and occasionally beyond.
About the Role :
As a Community Playworker, you will be supporting children’s development through a variety of different types of play such as play clubs, 1 : 1 based support, sports coaching and SEND support in schools.
The role consists of respite care for children and young people, including in locations such as parks and open spaces, schools and special schools.
A proportion of time maybe be spent working at one of our after school clubs so you will therefore need a flexible approach to the types of work you undertake and the hours worked.
During holiday times you may be requested to work up to 40 hours and overtime might be available term time.
About You :
You will need to be able to form positive working relationships with the children, their parents / carers, and with key partner organisations such as local Schools and Nurseries.
A FE qualification or higher in childcare or equivalent such as Play work is desirable for this role but not essential.
A full, valid UK driving licence is also required.
