SEN Teaching Assistant

A full time Teaching Assistant opportunity has become available in a two form entry primary school in Tameside, (SK15). The school are looking to recruit an enthusiastic teaching assistant with experience supporting pupils with significant barriers to learning and who display challenging behaviour.

The successful Teaching Assistant will be working with groups of children within Key Stage 1 in the morning and in a nurture class in the afternoon.

  • Working with groups of identified children with challenging behaviours.
  • Work on a 1 : 1 and a group basis.
  • Can be lash out at other children.
  • Be able to set clear boundaries but build positive relationships with pupils
  • Team teach qualification is highly desirable
  • Graduates of psychology / Sport are encouraged to apply
  • The School;
  • The pupils come from a White British background and a low number of pupils with EAL. To be considered for this teaching assistant role, you will need to have a teaching assistant qualification / degree or a degree in psychology / Sport.

    Teaching assistants with experience of supporting pupils children who display challenging behaviours are highly desirable but not essential.
