About MS AUL The MS Amlin business wrote approximately £3.7bn of GWP in 2019, of which approximately 55% was placed via the Lloyd’s platform through Syndicate 2001, one of the largest Lloyd’s syndicates.
Syndicate 2001 is a diverse underwriting business operating across a number of UK and overseas locations. MS AUL is the Lloyd’s managing agency which directs and manages the affairs of Syndicate 2001.
MS AUL is wholly owned by Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group and is regulated by the PRA, FCA and Lloyd’s. Syndicate 2001’s book is split into two main business areas : Specialty and Reinsurance.
Specialty comprises 5 departments (Property, Casualty, Marine, Natural Resources and Crisis Management) and Reinsurance covers a mix of property, casualty and specialty lines.
The Specialty business forms part of a global specialty franchise across London, the Middle East, the Far East and continental Europe.
MS AUL also operates as part of a global reinsurance franchise with offices in London, Zurich, Bermuda, Miami, New Jersey and Singapore.
MS AUL is estimated to write c.£1.5bn of GWP in 2020, split approximately a third Reinsurance and two-thirds Specialty. About the role Job purpose To conduct analysis and produce and deliver reports and dashboards in support of MSAUL’s Complaints function, and Conduct Risk strategy.
Providing accurate management information and insights and identifying any opportunities for improving complaints handling or conduct risk-related processes.
Ensure effective utilisation of internal and external data sources and identify opportunities to improve and streamline analysis and reporting processes.
This is a critical role in the provision of analysis and reporting across MSAUL. This includes supporting key regulatory reporting requirements on complaints handling and conduct risk.
Complaints handling and conduct risk are areas of high regulatory focus, and therefore the quality and accuracy of the analysis and reporting conducted is very important to minimise the risk of regulatory censure and / or potentially adverse publicity.
This is where you come in. You can help MS Amlin to achieve this by : Provide regular reporting, analysis and ad hoc deep dive interrogation on complaints and conduct risk.
Maintain a calendar of all key required complaints and conduct risk reporting, including regulatory reporting, and proactively manage competing priorities to ensure reporting deadlines are met.
Provide interpretation and insight on complaints and conduct risk data and reporting, helping management to identify key issues, trends, and opportunities to improve processes.
Manage and interrogate data from across MS Amlin’s systems, external sources and arrangements with third parties (e.g. coverholders and TPAs) to maximise the accuracy and usefulness of the analysis and reporting provided.
Ensure that personal and sensitive data is managed in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, and in accordance with MSAUL’s policies.
Enhance reporting processes wherever possible, to maximise the efficient production of accurate data. What we are looking for : Although the role falls within the Complaints function, its focus extends to all areas of MSAUL in terms of the company’s conduct risk obligations.
A key element of the role will be the ability to combine data from different sources and functions, to present that clearly and to provide interpretation and insight in addition to reporting.
