Position Summary

Working within a professional and busy Quality Control laboratory, the QC Team Leader is responsible for providing daily leadership to their team by developing high performance, creating a successful work environment, and moving strategy to action.

They will lead a team of up to 15 QC Associates and Professionals and support the QC Manager.

Role Responsibilities :

Set daily direction for your team by effective engagement in PPI lean methodology including standard work and tier meetings.

Ensure processes and procedures are carried out in accordance with the laboratory and company Quality Systems

Maintain and supervise the calibration and audit requirements for the Quality Control laboratory and to ensure all information is available and correct for auditing purposes

Plan resources to ensure quality control testing is carried out within schedule

Ensure Quality Control Testing is carried out in accordance with Oxoid test specifications and methods

Track and control the progress of products, and provide accurate availability dates to planning and customer services

Ensure all test results are recorded within the SAP Quality Management module

Conducting release and failure usage decisions on raw materials and finished product against defined specifications and raising incidents and CAPAs in the SAP system

Investigating and conducting RCA on departments’ incidents and CAPAs

Provide technical expertise for the products being tested and can be relied upon as a go-to’ for technical advice and assistance for both the team and the business

Build and maintain effective working relationships to ensure robust collaboration cross-functionally and with key stakeholders (key interfaces include QC Supervisor, QA, Manufacturing Sciences, Engineering, Production, Customer Services and Planning) to ensure customer service level targets are met and product and raw materials testing is prioritized to meet business needs

Alert QC Manager of potential problems / failures and complete investigations

Ensure that the departmental budget is adhered to

Writing and maintaining SOPs

We’re looking for someone who :

Has a strong technical knowledge of the products we test, significant experience of Quality Control testing within a microbiology environment, and has significant experience in using SAP QM module, and MS Office

Is educated to Level 6 (or equivalent / QBE) in Microbiology or related subject

Experience in leading and developing a team and has significant experience of resource planning within a laboratory environment

Is a qualified PPI Process Manager or has relevant experience in lean management

Is composed and able to remain calm and work methodically under pressure
