The Role

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will be the site technical authority for electrical, control and instrumentation assets at Peterhead Power Station.

You will be responsible for technical leadership of the discipline asset engineers within the Assets Engineering team. You will be a highly motivated professional engineer with experience in high and low voltage electrical, and control systems engineering.

This role is for an asset engineer; however, a Lead Asset Engineer role may be made available for the right candidate with suitable experience.

In addition to above, you will be responsible for the following :

  • Management of works to ensure a safe working environment;
  • Technical governance & guidance for your plant area;
  • Delivery of compliance with legislation and industry best practice;
  • Development of asset management plans;
  • Management of projects;
  • Delivery of an effective outage strategy;
  • Optimising the maintenance strategy to meet with the needs of our customers / stakeholders;
  • Leading root cause analysis and engineering solutions to defects;
  • Driving innovation to achieve improvements in plant performance.
  • Your Skills & Experience

    To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who is educated to a minimum of HND level in an engineering discipline.

    Qualifications in electrical or control system engineering will be viewed favourably.

    Industry experience in a similar role in power, process or a similar industry is preferred. Ideally you will be a chartered engineer or working towards you Chartership.

    Experience with high voltage electrical engineering, management of equipment in explosive atmospheres, functional safety systems, field instrumentation and PLC's will be viewed favourably.

    In addition, you will have experience in the following :

  • Contract management of strategic suppliers and management of our Contract Strategy;
