Your role is key in providing street cleansing, grounds and horticultural maintenance that impact the street environment, parks and greenspaces in primarily Stockport, but may also include commercial work outside of the borough.
We’re looking for a hard-working and flexible individual who is committed to working safely at all times to join the Totally Local Company’s Streetcare team.

What you will be doing in this role
You'll drive a range of vehicles with gross vehicle weight up to 3.5 tonnes including tippers, mechanical sweepers, ride on mowers and tractors.
You'll be responsible for daily vehicle checks, adjustments and defect reporting.
You'll undertake cleaning duties in accordance with agreed procedures to defined standards such as sweeping, cleaning, litter picking, emptying litterbins, the removal of weeds and all types of debris and refuse.
You'll remove graffiti, fly posting and other material when required.
You'll perform general grounds maintenance duties including basic arboriculture, weeding, mowing, pruning and other associated horticulture.
You'll maintain recreational and sports facilities including markings to specified standards.
You'll carry out winter maintenance duties : manual and mechanical gritting, filling and siting of grit bins and snow / ice clearance, as required.
You'll plan workload objectives and allocate work to the team, monitoring performance and ensuring that an effective service is provided at all times.
You'll ensure that Health & Safety practice, security and safe use of plant and machinery are applied.
What we are looking for
You'll have experience in delivering grounds maintenance.
You'll possess a full UK driving license.
You'll have knowledge and understanding of horticultural standards, working methods and equipment deployed within Parks and Grounds maintenance.
You'll have a sound knowledge of Health & Safety and the ability of completing vehicle checks.
You'll adopt a team-working approach at work and able to supervise on site.
You'll be willing to work flexibly in a changing environment, in line with business demands and needs.
You'll act professionally at all times when in contact with the public and other customers; you will be responsible for presenting a positive image of both TLC and our clients.
