An exciting opportunity has arisen to drive sepsis improvements and care of the deteriorating patient whilst joining our established and highly respected critical care outreach team.
Sepsis remains the leading cause of preventable death accounting for an estimated 48,000 deaths per year in the UK alone.
Timely sepsis recognition and treatment is key to survival with early intervention of sepsis with sepsis six management shown to improve survival by 25%.
This is a unique opportunity to make a difference and be part of improvements in sepsis recognition and treatment.
We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative and expert practitioner to deliver patient-focused care to acutely ill, deteriorating and critically ill patients across the trust.
The successful candidate will need to display excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, be able to respond to rapidly changing, high pressure situations.
You will be able to work autonomously and as part of a team and have good critical thinking and decision making skills.
You will be instrumental in the early recognition of deterioration and deliver an effective response, liaising with the patient’s own team.
As a senior member of the team you will be responsible for providing support and mentorship to junior team members and ward staff.
