The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive, professional, efficient, general secretarial and administrative services within the GP Surgery.
Main responsibilities include :
Responsible for creating and proof-reading clinical letters
Arrange appointments, liaising with internal and external departments
Scanning, photocopying and processing of all out-going medical post and general filing
Responsible for the running of weekly discharge reports using EMIS to ensure all episodes are captured and summaries generated
Manage correspondence and telephone enquiries as directed
Taking minutes at designated meetings
To be responsible for the process for ordering controlled drugs prescriptions and to maintain the database
Essential and desired experience
Experience working within GP Surgeries
Previous Medical Secretary experience
Experience using EMIS Web
Strong knowledge of medical terminology
