Job Description

We are recruiting for a Digital Solution Architect to join our team in the UK with infrequent to travel to customer sites across the UK.

Applicants living in the UK who require sponsorship will be considered.

Purpose

  • Provision of architecture consultancy, governance and direction to the wider team to support account level strategy around API’s, microservices and modernisation.
  • Design and communication of solutions architectures for proposals and the ability to guide the design and development of solutions that meet clients current and future needs.
  • Ability to create architectures to support hosted and cloud solutions which serve data and application as a service.
  • Experience required :

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years as a Solution Architect, Lead Architect or Tech Lead
  • Desirable worked in a technical role in the BFSI domain, i.e. banking, credit cards, credit reference agencies
  • Desirable Degree qualified in related subject
  • Desirable - Formal architecture qualification such as TOGAF
  • Essential Knowledge :

  • Familiar with Microservice architectures, APIs , cloud infrastructure, SaaS, PaaS, DaaS, etc. and DBMS architectures.
  • Technical awareness of the following would be a strong advantage : Kubernetes, Docker, Cloudera, Dev / Sec / Ops, Apigee
  • Communication - able to get one’s message understood clearly by adopting a range of styles, tools and techniques appropriate to the audience and the nature of the information
  • Coaching skills within the team for technical domain
  • Analytical thinking - able to simplify complex problems, processes or projects into component parts explore and evaluate them systematically
  • Strategic thinking able to identify a vision along with the plans, which need to be implemented to meet the end goal, evaluating situations, decisions and issues in the short, medium and long term.
  • Influencing and persuading - able to present sound and well-reasoned arguments to convince others. Adapts to the situation and can draw from a range of strategies to persuade people in a way that results in agreement or behaviour change
  • Managing relationships and team working - able to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people.
  • Works co-operatively with others to be part of a team and also able to work independently.

  • Familiar with development languages & platforms e.g .NET Core, Java, Scala, Cobol, SQL, Datastage, CICS, z / OS, Windows, Linux
  • Proficient at frameworks & design patterns , e.g. ESB, MVC, SOLID, etc.
  • Awareness of ITIL, Prince 2, Agile SAFe, architecture framework (in a previous organisation), PCI Compliance and FCA Regulations and SDLC
  • Familiar with Compliance & Security - Security related Architecture
  • Experience in defining and developing high-volume, horizontally scalable architectures & message driven workflow
  • Solution Architecture

  • The ability to lead the development of architectures for complex systems, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external, and internal stakeholders.
  • Uses appropriate tools, including logical models of components and interfaces, to lead the development of systems architectures in specific business or functional areas.

    Produces detailed component specifications and translates these into designs for implementation. Provides advice on technical aspects of system development and integration (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.

    and ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) are applied correctly for clients.

  • Ensures all Architecture documents follow the required client procedures.
  • Ensures all Architectures for involved projects are consistent in driving improvements in implementation / performance and maintainability
