Due to the current climate, this role is, at present, able to be performed remotely, however, should there be a need to return to our offices, the Business Analyst would be based in either our London or Newcastle office.

The team

The Global Practice Management System (GPMS) is based on SAP technology and went live in September 2017. GPMS is managed and supported by the Centre of Excellence (CoE) and the Application Management Support Service (AMS).

Part of the Financial Planning and Analysis function, the Finance Business Information (FBI) team sits between business services and the various support departments ensuring the business information needs of Norton Rose Fulbright can be provided in an accurate and timely way.

The role

This is a fantastic short term opportunity for an ambitious individual who wishes to be part of a progressive and customer-centric team.

The FBI team is fairly new and contains 4 highly technical individuals who specialise in SAP ECC, SAP BW and SAP Business Objects.

We are now looking for a Business Analyst on a 3 month contract (possibility for extension) to join the team with a specific task of delivering a functional blueprint document.

The team are about to embark on a short project to design and create business objects reporting universe / s with an objective of setting the foundations as an enabler to ensure the team can maximise the future benefits from the investment made in SAP Technology.

This role will suit a self-starter with proven successes in producing detailed functional specifications, which can be used by the technical experts to build and deliver useable business objects universe / s.

Requirements : Essential


  • Proven track record in producing functional and technical data design blueprints
  • Experience of working on data projects from the outset requirement gathering stage to delivery
  • Good awareness of data architecture and data warehousing
  • Proven successful experience of Data mapping (End to End)
  • Understanding business process within a service background P2P, S2C and FM
  • Excellent Stakeholder Management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to run engaging workshops that remain on point and achieve the desired outcomes
  • Solid numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Positive, committed and prepared to use initiative
  • Ability to take responsibility, meet deadlines and work under pressure with multiple tasks
  • Collaborative : able to work successfully with both peers in the FBI team but also with stakeholders across the business to achieve desired outcomes
  • Advantageous

  • Knowledge of SAP based applications preferred
  • Experience of working in a professional services business (ideally legal)
