    Job Summary

    The role is for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our established Engineering Team. You will be involved in design and development of PCMC machinery, preparation of component assembly drawings, layouts and schematics.

    You will be required to provide detailed safety documentation, reports and machine manuals in support of the design and for the end user, ensuring that all necessary requirements are met in a timely and cost effective manner.

    You will have worked in the special purpose machinery industry, engineering products such as rotary machines, process equipment with air, hydraulic, vacuum & mechanical actuators.

    Responsibilities

  • Support continued improvement of existing machinery.
  • Involvement in Design & Development of new machinery and features.
  • Involvement in Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance testing.
  • Support customer service and sales teams using your technical expertise and to generate new business.
  • Working to agreed timescales & tight deadlines.
  • Support and promote good teamwork within and outside of the department, and act in line with the company’s policies and values.
  • Prepared to travel when required (UK & International) in support of projects.
  • Requirements

  • Graduate in Mechanical Engineering or closely related qualification minimum grade 2 : 2.
  • Experience with 3D and 2D Mechanical design software.
  • Motion control / servo control systems.
  • Previous experience with SolidWorks 3D and / or Autocad 2D design processes would be an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills to deal with the response time pressures that can arise due to the nature of this industry.
  • Ability to convert verbal, written, and other media-based information into project documentation.
  • Excellent computer skills, being proficient in Microsoft Office packages such as Excel, Word, and Outlook etc.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload.
  • Ability to cope with varied responsibilities and work as an individual or as part of a team.
  • A drive and determination to succeed.
  • Be self-sufficient and adaptable.
