We have an exciting global opportunity for a Senior Programmer, HTA Statistical Programming to join our team, based in Kings Cross, London.

The Biostatistics and Research Decision Sciences (BARDS) organization has a proud record of providing comprehensive analytical and methodological expertise to support MSD's strategic goals.

The organization is comprised of various functional areas which collectively are organized to provide support across all divisions of MSD spanning product discovery through manufacturing and marketing.

The MSD BARDS organization is launching an EU Center of Excellence supporting Health Technology Assessment (HTA) dossiers.

This Center of Excellence consists of one team of Statisticians and Statistical Programmers based across its London (UK) and Brussels (Belgium) sites.

It provides support to the Center for Observational and Real World-Evidence (CORE), within MSD Research Laboratories.

Roles and Responsibilities for this Position

You will be part of the Biostatistics and Research Decision Sciences (BARDS) organization which has a presence in the US, EU and AP.

By joining MSD on this role you will apply your skills and experience in support of developing scientifically based arguments aiming to provide fair accessibility to MSD drugs and vaccines making a real difference in patient’s lives.

The role is based in Kings Cross, London, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days / week.

In this role, you will :

  • Support analysis and reporting on HTA projects. This may include leadership of parts of projects (including in its project planning dimensions).
  • HTA projects supported by the team will consist in

    re-)using clinical trial data to derive HTA analysis datasets and deliver Tables, Figures and Listings (TFLs) in support of HTA dossiers.

  • Collaborate with the HTA statisticians to gather and interpret the requirements.
  • Ensure proper project planning.
  • Access, gather and transform the required data into HTA analysis datasets.
  • Working independently and as part of project teams, ensure high quality, compliant and efficient delivery of flexible FTLs reporting tools mostly using the SAS programming macro language. Qualifications
  • Essential

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in an analytical field (Computer Science, Statistics, Life Sciences or related fields) with 3-
  • 7 years of SAS statistical programming experience preferrably in clinical trial environments for safety and efficacy reporting.

  • Strong analytical mind-set with high level of accountability for quality, compliance and timelines.
  • Team oriented with demonstrated history of teamwork and collaboration; enjoying diversity, respect and integrity.
  • Ability and interest to work across cultures in an international environment.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent collaboration, negotiation and organization skills, creative thinking, and good communication and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of statistics, clinical and data management concepts as applied to drug / vaccine development within the Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Capacity to seamlessly assimilate new projects and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of computer systems, software development lifecycles, and clinical database systems as well as reporting systems in a statistical environment.
  • Advanced SAS programming skills including data steps, procedures, SAS / MACRO, SAS / GRAPH; Graphics experience; with various operating systems and database expertise.
  • Successful experience in developing analysis and reporting statistical programming deliverables (datasets, statistical analyses, report tables, and graphics) for research and development projects.
  • Understanding of statistical terminology and concepts; Potential to design and develop complex programming algorithms.
  • Desirable

  • Prior experience with project management. Ability to coordinate the work of others and to engage key stakeholders.
  • Experience in supporting deliverables used for HTA dossiers.
  • Experience in CDISC data standards (SDTM, ADaM).
  • Publications in professional societies (Phuse, PSI, PharmaSUG, etc.).
