Samuel Knight's established client are currently looking for a Senior Surveyor with experience in Underground Utility & GPR Surveys to join their team based in the Midlands.
The applicant will be responsible for carrying out works on site & in the office as delegated to him / her by more senior members of staff and to company standards & procedures for surveying, Health & Safety, Quality Assurance & Environmental policies.
The ideal applicant will have the following skills :
An advanced knowledge of all underground utility / GPR surveying technologies, and the mapping of same in 2D & 3D to topographical surveys and have a good understanding of the PAS128 utility mapping standards.
Be competent in undertaking land and measured building surveys and be a competent user of the 3D Laser Scanner & process same.
A good understanding of survey setting out duties, from millimetre accurate works, through to + / - 75mm pile setting out.
Installation of gridlines and datums would be an advantage as would be the ability to attain Security Clearance for Government sensitive site.
Be able to work independently, often travelling to site from home.
The Senior Surveyor will be responsible for :
Ensuring that staff under your control work in a safe & professional manner at all times
Ensuring you are in possession of & use your PPE and that you have any site passes / permits that you need (LUL / NR entry permits, CSCS, H&S passport etc)
Ensuring that you have a copy of the project Method Statement & Risk Assessment with you on site & that you fill it out prior to starting work.
Ensuring that your surveying equipment is in working order & is suitable for the task in hand before going to site.
Delivery of projects to the survey brief on time & on budget
Client liaison and site meetings when necessary
Requirements for the role of Senior Surveyor will be :
Good interpersonal skills
Have advanced knowledge of all aspects of underground utility / GPR surveys and a good understanding of land & measured building surveys
Must have advanced knowledge of underground utility survey processing software. N4ce experience would be an advantage
A good understanding of GPS
Ability to prioritise & meet deadlines
Must be an advanced user of AutoCAD. Bentley Microstation knowledge would be useful
Must be an advanced user of underground utility / GPR survey equipment, and Leica survey equipment & Viva operating system / applications.
Ability to travel around UK, with focus on London & South East
Should you be asked to work on rail related projects, you will be required to be Sentinel registered
Channel surveys / Environment Agency experience would be beneficial
Full UK Driving License required
