We have six UK studios; Sheffield, Newcastle, Nottingham, Leamington Spa, The Chinese Room in Brighton and Red Kite Games in Huddersfield, along with Sumo Video Games in Pune, India.

Recent work includes Crackdown 3 (Microsoft), Hitman 2 (IO Interactive), LittleBigPlanet 3 (Sony), and our first self-published original title -

Snake Pass. We are also incredibly proud to be working on the highly anticipated Team Sonic Racing (SEGA) and Dead Island 2 (Deep Silver / Koch Media) as well as unannounced AAA’ projects for major publishers.

Sumo Nottingham became part of the Sumo Digital family in March of 2016 and is a real community of game loving, talented people who have a broad set of skills across a diverse range of games genres.

Sumo Nottingham is looking for a Track Designer to join our talented design team.

The role Sumo :

  • As a track designer you will develop a vision for the racing experience on multiple tracks, and then communicate that vision to the entire team.
  • You will work with art, animation and audio teams to deliver your track, building it from an initial blockout through to a final track, all the while pushing to make the racing experience the best it can be.

    You will report to the Senior Track Designer, who will provide goals and feedback on your work.

  • As a crucial member of the Sumo Nottingham design team you'll have a positive and constructive approach to both giving and receiving feedback, not just within your own specialty but across the entire game.
  • You'll be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, and have a passion for making great games.

    We need you to have :

  • Level design and scripting experience in a modern editing tool such as Unreal Engine 4 or Unity 5.
  • A good grasp of racing game design and what makes a great track.
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
  • Good to have but not essential :

  • Experience designing tracks for a published racing game.
  • Basic modelling skills with a 3D software package such as Maya or 3DS Max.
