Job Description

To provide turbomachinery service to help support business and reputation growth globally. Essential service to include site surveys / audits, failure investigation / RCA’s, field work, technical advice and report writing.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day general technical support for customer issues. This should be commercialized where feasible (i.e. chargeable).
  • Identify areas of opportunities via field visits, site surveys and other general technical customer involvement. Opportunities may include failure investigations, upgrades, healthchecks, spare seals, seal management programmes, etc.
  • To conduct failure investigations from minor reports based on in-house seal observations to a large facilitated RCA session.
  • Conduct sales and technical presentations on Turbomachinery related products, to support existing business and identify new opportunities.
  • Manage critical site work such as turnkey retrofit programmes ensuring on time completion.
  • Maintain and build a good rapport with the customers during service calls and witness test, provide good after-sales service support & training, on-
  • time delivery performance and any further follow-up actions required.

  • Ensuring that site related jobs are executed on time and to quality standards (HSE) and customer expectations.
  • Liaise closely with John Crane’s turbo CoE’s on issues concerning any of the turbo product range.
  • Adopt good housekeeping and safety practice in the test centre and on customer sites.
  • Assist Turbomachinery Group on special assignments as and when required.
  • Frequent traveling on a global basis will be required.
  • The Individual

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Extensive Rotating Equipment experience
  • Experience of working in a multinational and multicultural environment
  • Rotating equipment knowledge
  • Knowledge of gas seal inspection, build & test
  • Strong technical knowledge of all John Crane turbo products
  • Good knowledge of various RCA techniques
  • Strong Commercial and Technical Skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills
