What you'll be doing
You will be responsible for acting as a 3rd line escalation point for incident response. This responsibility will require you to provide technical and thought leadership during the resolution of incidents.
You will also be supporting the technical and procedural development of those in lower tiered teams while ensuring that the best possible levels of service are delivered in an effective and efficient manner.
You have the responsibility to deliver 3rd line operations commercial services.
Finally, the 3rd line team is responsible for the design and delivery of projects to proactively protect BT, its subsidiaries and customers while also contributing to the delivery of BT Security’s operational and commercial plans.
Other ways that you will contribute to BT Security’s operational plans are :
Support the delivery of the CERT service and all associated processes to ensure that the CERT meets the expectations of the business and takes into account appropriate legal and regulatory constraints.
Ensure all incidents are progressed in accordance with documented processes and current undertakings.
Analysis & interpretation of data into useful management information.
Design, develop and lead on actionable projects and work streams aimed at investigating new security issues and threats.
Challenge lack of progress where appropriate.
Develop existing and new detection capabilities in the area.
Lead on relationship development with external parties, customers, suppliers and stakeholders ensuring the cost effective provision of a professional Security service.
Manage, develop and deliver commercially effective security services for internal and external use.
Support the management of crime affecting BT and the services it offers.
Scope and demonstrate a continuous path of self-development.
Provide technical leadership, product expertise and diagnosis to upskill others.

Hold appropriate level of Security Clearance where required.
Demonstrate the ability to explain complex technical situations to a lay person with little to no technical knowledge. This may be expressed verbally as well as written.
Demonstrate one’s own initiative to resolve problems and issues as and when they occur, and use appropriate thought leadership to guide teams to solve their own problems.
Maintain an up to date working knowledge of both Cyber and Physical best practices and the ever changing threat landscape.
Maintain an awareness of the different legal systems in which the BT Group operate.
Maintain an up to date technical skillset, with this being as tools agnostic as feasible.
