You will work on rotation and learn all areas of the operation including :
You will be given the training necessary to carry out duties in all of these departments, including mentoring by a strong, established operational team.
We offer you
This is a 15 month programme, where you will gain a Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing. There is an English and Maths GCSE requirement for the course but if you do not have it, don’t worry as the college can provide support to gain this qualification before you begin.
After completion of the apprenticeship programme, most individuals will go on to work in a Laser Operative role with the opportunity for further training and to become a master in that field or a Supervisor.
However, this is a large operation and you may find other areas interesting as an alternative, we will discuss this path with you regularly.

Our ideal candidate might be a school / college leaver and will be honest, eager to learn with a strong can-do attitude and possess a confident and bright personality.
Or you may have some work experience and want to try something different or develop your skills further.
You should be organised and methodical in your approach with a genuine interest in developing a career with Barrett Steel.
A good level of IT is essential; you must be able to confidently use Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint at a basic level.
