Assistant Room Leader is required for our client a lovely setting based over in the Radlett area.An Assistant Room Leader is required to ensure all children receive high quality care, are kept safe and are provided with planned and stimulating play experiences which meet their individual needs and support all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
In addition to childcare duties, the Forest School / Room Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the playroom in terms of ensuring the nursery’s operational objectives are met.
The Assistant Room Manager will be responsible for staff working within that room, in accordance with the requirements of the Children’s Act 2004, local authority and OFSTED requirements and nursery Policies and Procedures.
The nursery will ensure that you are given appropriate guidance and on-going instruction and training to be able to fulfil this role. Main requirements : -
To ensure that safeguarding and health and safety procedures are upheld at alltimes
Providing care and education to children from a wide range of backgrounds,including those with special educational needs
Experience of effectively motivating, leading and managing a small team
Excellent understanding of the needs of young children
Thorough knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage, including the WelfareRequirements
Safeguarding children issues and procedures
Equalities issues and implementation and development of equal opportunitypractices
Ability to observe and assess children’s development
Have a warm and positive approach to children
Record keeping and report
Ability to develop good working relationships with parents and other serviceproviders
Ability to co-operate and adhere to health and safety policy, practices andinstructions
Flexibility including the ability to cope with changing needs and demands
Able to work on own initiative and manage own workload
Ability to operate the nursery management software for preparation of data asrequired by the manager or proprietors
Leadership skills including the ability to offer positive encouragement and support
Approachable, reliable and conscientious
