This is a vital role which will report to the Leakage Team Leader within the water network. This role has been developed to allow the water network department to deliver against its strategic targets by the delivery against the Distribution Operations Maintenance Strategy (DOMS), Leakage, Customer and Efficiency targets within the regulatory framework.
This role is pivotal in helping the water network achieve its target position of frontier status.
Carlisle, Workington, Whitehaven, Kendal, Lancaster, Blackpool, Preston, Burnley, Blackburn, Southport, Rochdale, Wigan, Bolton, Oldham, Manchester, Liverpool, Stockport, Warrington, Macclesfield, Crewe.
The key responsibilities of a Leakage Technician / Inspector are :
Reactive leakage assistance.
Interpretation and use of flow and pressure data to agree areas of interest for further leakage detection activity.
Appropriate leakage detection method depending on requirements of the DMAs (correlating, sounding, step testing, data loggers).
To ensure all activities comply with Health and Safety Legislation, including confined space entry and dynamic risk assessment.
Assist other roles.
Carry out mandatory daily vehicle check.
Check boundary valves in relation to leakage activities.
Chlorine and Phosphate testing for leakage purposes.
Confined Space entry.
Ensure PPE and equipment is maintained as per standard.
Flush main for leakage purposes.
Identify strategic valves.
Essential Requirements :
Valid & In date Street Works Card.
Valid & In date Water Card.
Knowledge of Leakage Equipment.
