As Global Strategic Sourcing Manager you will take Business Unit strategy at the product level and lead cross functional teams to implement efficient supply chain methods in support of those strategies.

Includes understanding and executing total cost of ownership analysis, risk analysis, supplier interviews, supplier selection, supplier site audits, supplier qualification, cost negotiations, establishing contracts / non-disclosure agreements and ongoing strategic supplier development.

The position will use OEM arrangements for finished goods as well as make recommendations on vertical integration for sub-components and help develop a strategy that considers in-region and international sourcing techniques.

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Interview and screen vendors.
  • Generate and analyze RFQ / bid proposals.
  • Conduct vendor site visits and audits.
  • Assist engineering, virtual factory managers and product managers in evaluating make vs. buy opportunities.
  • Selection of best resource for strategic relationship with CommScope. (Key Contributor.)
  • Negotiate contracts for strategic fit, best in class total cost and service. This includes writing and maintaining contracts to keep them current and minimize liability / risk on behalf of CommScope.
  • Continual strategic development of Contract Manufacturing vendor base.
  • Assist in corporate negotiations for global vendor base (both in region and multi-national).
  • Price and Cost reduction with Supply Base.
  • Negotiate labor cost reductions with Contract Manufacturer.
  • Negotiate transition pricing from NPI to Production.
  • Identify potential areas of the product for price improvements and feedback to Cross Functional teams, Strategic sourcing managers, NPI planners etc.
  • Track product Cost reduction and implementation plans.
  • Manage Quarterly Pricing process and New Product Production Pricing.
  • Provide consolidated spend plan for the quarter to Strategic Sourcing Managers, Purchasing Managers and NPI planners to start quarterly negotiations with the component suppliers.
  • Collect from all Strategic Sourcing Managers, Purchasing Managers and NPI planners negotiated component pricing.
  • Verify Material MOQ exposure is consistent with production plans.
  • Work with SAP Master Data Administrator to store all supplier quotations. Establish, Maintain and Track progress of Cost Reductions.
  • Continuous improvement of processes and systems.
  • Skills & Experience Required :

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related curriculum required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of procurement or relevant experience is required.
  • Candidate must have or is actively securing a certification in the procurement area (like C.P.M. or CPIM).
  • Position requires significant travel (domestic and international).
  • Must demonstrate capability to lead a cross functional team and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language would be an advantage.
