We're looking for an ambitious CDP or Commis Chef who's passionate about food to join our kitchen team at the Shepherd and Dog pub / restaurant in Fulking, outside Henfield.
The kitchen serves fresh food, as locally sourced as possible, with a regularly changing seasonal menu. We serve award-winning Sunday roasts, have regular food events including Trenchmore farm steak nights, nose-
to-tail menu tastings and wine / beer / spirits matchings, beer festivals with menu's to match etc, and cater for events all year round.
We also have a BBQ kitchen in the garden where we serve around the same number of covers as in the main pub. Lots of prep work and opportunities to learn a loads!.
We can offer full training at City and Guilds level 2 and 3 through Brighton and Hove City College. In addition we provide competitive pay rates depending on age and experience, equal share of tips, staff discount in the pub, staff meals and a young and friendly team to work with.
You'll need your own transport due to our rural location and will need to be able to work all shifts including days / evenings / weekends.
Personality, attitude and work ethic are more important to us than experience but you will have ideally worked in a kitchen environment before.
