Job Description :

The role will report to the regional head of Trade & Supply Chain Product Management, who in turn reports to EMEA Head of Trade and Supply Chain.

It is a core role in a high-growth area that has been identified as a strategic priority for the global Trade business. The individual will be responsible for the end-

to-end management of the Supply Chain Finance and Trade Receivables Finance product sets.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to :

  • Work in a dynamic growing part of the GTS and wider Global Banking and Markets (GBAM) franchise
  • Help drive revenue and net income growth in Supply Chain Finance, which has been identified as a strategic growth area for the global GTS Trade business, and wider GTS business
  • Interact with the largest global corporations and regional financial institutions in EMEA
  • Gain significant exposure to senior business partners and leaders in EMEA across Trade, GTS Sales, and Corporate Banking
  • Significant exposure to holistic working capital solutions within wider set of treasury products and how they fit with client objectives
  • Gain significant industry and market exposure
  • Have the ability to demonstrate strong business management and product oversight skills.
  • The role provides excellent opportunities for future progression either within the immediate Trade team in EMEA or globally, or into a role within the wider GTS or GBAM business.

    What will I be doing? (Responsibilities)

    Key responsibilities of the position include :

  • Bring a strong product management discipline to the GTS EMEA Supply Chain Finance and Receivables Finance product set
  • In close partnership with the EMEA GTS team, drive product development and management for existing and new Global Supply Chain solutions
  • Build strong linkages with global product team and regional product peers to ensure alignment and global consistency across the product set
  • Actively own and manage the product P&L for the EMEA Supply Chain capabilities, ensuring focus on responsible revenue growth and strategic cost reduction
  • Provide senior support for Supply Chain deal selection / approval, structuring of complex solutions, pricing and assessment of product / client suitability
  • Work closely with Trade PSS, GTS Sales, Corporate Banking, Wholesale Credit, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Risk partners to drive profitable growth while enforcing risk discipline / awareness.
  • Ensure full compliance with global, regional, and local in-country regulatory and compliance requirements for Supply Chain Finance and Receivables Finance.
  • Align with wider GTS Trade team to ensure ongoing regulatory changes impacting the trade business are implemented successfully

  • Continuously benchmark solution set versus key competitors and 3rd party technology providers. Ensure strong flow of competitive and market information into the Trade and wider GTS team to facilitate product enhancement
  • In partnership with Marketing and Sales, increase visibility of the Bank’s Supply Chain business by creating and executing on a comprehensive internal / external marketing campaign, in partnership with Trade PSS Head
  • Support EMEA Head of Trade and Supply Chain Finance Product Management in driving new market entry for product offering in region to support Global Expansion
  • Provide senior support for key client pitches and RFPs , and champion best practice in working capital management conversations
  • Competencies we look for

  • Strong background in product management in a trade finance context, particularly Supply Chain Finance and working capital management
  • Experience in influencing peers, juniors and senior leadership
  • Proven track record in client management and ability to operate in a client-centric manner
  • Strong grasp of critical principles of risk management, credit risk, and compliance / anti-money laundering.
  • Customer centric approach balancing risk, profitability and responsible growth
  • Strong relationship management skills internal and external
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Well-developed presentational skills to both internal stakeholders and external clients
  • Numerate with strong ability to manage financials
  • A self-starter who can also work with other interdependent groups
  • Ability to work in a high pressure, deadline orientated environment

  • Essential Skills

  • Proven background in Supply Chain Finance and Receivables Finance in an international banking environment
  • Strong understanding of the core trade finance product suite including traditional trade lending, documentary trade, supply chain finance, and receivables finance
  • Exceptionally strong product / business management skills, including P&L / financial management, business development, product rollout and delivery, management of risk and controls
  • Proven ability to design, build and deliver new product solutions and propositions
  • Ability to communicate & align cross a wide group of regional and global stakeholders
  • Proven record in driving change, innovating and promoting digital transformation
  • Nice to have

  • Understanding of capital market securities, particularly Notes / zero coupon bonds
  • Client management skills
  • Background in credit underwriting and credit risk management
