The Language Centre at Manchester Metropolitan University, as part of the Department of Languages, Information and Communications, is currently undergoing a period of expansion and development of in-
sessional, pre-sessional and credit bearing EAP provision. In addition, these is an ambition to grow the Centre’s portfolio of external projects with clients from around the globe.
The role :
We are now seeking an additional EAP / EFL Tutor and Course Co-ordinator to assist in the administration and operation of the Language Centre’s courses.
You will work to co-ordinate small teaching teams, develop teaching, learning and assessment resources and will work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality of provision.
You will also be expected to contribute to teaching across the Language Centre's suite of programmes.
About you :
As the successful candidate, you will be a highly qualified EFL / EAP practitioner with experience of teaching and coordinating EAP programmes, preferably in a UK university.
Ideally, you will also have some experience of coordinating modules and developing commercial EFL / ESP courses. You will hold a Master’s level qualification in Applied Linguistics / TESOL or a related subject area, and a DELTA (or equivalent) qualification.
You should be able to demonstrate that you can work in an intercultural environment and have an adaptable and collegiate outlook.
This appointment will initially be on a full-time basis for a period of two years.
