About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team that manages and improves one of the busiest motorways in Europe - the M25.

We are looking for a Energy & Lighting Engineer to join us to work in Leatherhead .

Role Profile :

  • To support the Energy Manager in developing and delivering the Energy strategy for CPS, including energy management and Street Lighting Asset Management.
  • What you'll be doing

    As a Energy & Lighting Engineer you will :

  • Ensure that the network lighting inventory is accurately managed and continually updated through the confirm system;
  • Produce and maintain inventory summaries to reflect amendments for submission to the un-metered supply operator;
  • Liaison with the CPS maintenance teams to ensure that changes to the asset are captured in the inventory;
  • To be responsible for liaising with third parties to ensure that invoices are accurate and to be responsible for the monthly energy procurements, and electrical reports;
  • To be responsible for lighting surveys on the network ensuring that any works are actioned;
  • Support in the preparation and delivery of schemes;
  • Collate and analysis data from condition scores and inspection and testing regimes, to produce reports as and when required for the Energy Manager, CPS and stakeholders;
  • Respond to billing enquiries, including site visits for meter readings and supply queries;
  • Liaison with 3rd parties for information transfer;
  • Liaison with the sustainability teams to produce plans and minimise depot consumption of energy;
  • Carry out other duties required by the Energy Manager;
  • Support other areas of the Linear Asset Team;
  • Live the Connect Plus Services Values;
  • Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm;
  • Support the delivery of the business’ Sustainability activities.
  • Who we're looking for

    Personal Qualities and Experience :

  • Substantial knowledge and experience of Street lighting, preferably on Highways England’s networks;
  • Knowledge of highways electrical and lighting systems;
  • Excellent IT skills ideally data base / asset management systems experience;
  • Flexible;
  • Enthusiastic with the ability to work in a team or individually;
  • Strong skills and the ability to self-manage tasks;
  • Effective communicator.
