  • The House of Commons Retail Team is a changing and dynamic team which operates three shops : two within the Palace of Westminster and an external shop in Parliament Square;
  • in addition, there is an e-commerce site. Occasionally pop-up shops operate off the parliamentary estate.

    The Role

    We have an exciting opportunity for a temporary Retail Merchandinsing Manager to join a creative and ambitious team in a non-traditional retail environment.

    You will be responsible for effectively managing the retail systems and stock across the retail business ensuring levels meet demand and sales are maximised to achieve sales targets.

    You will be responsible for monitoring and forecasting the sales and stock requirements of all lines across all gift shops and will lead on the visual merchandising of all locations.

    You will ensure your visual display are eye catching to get the buyer’s attention to increase sale and provide an excellent in-store experience for the customers.

    The Person

    To be successful in this position the candidate will have the following skills / experience :

  • Extensive experience in managing merchandise across multiple locations within a set budget and sales targets.
  • Experience to accurately forecast trends, plan stock levels and monitor performance across gift and printed products.
  • Excellent knowledge of Retail Management Systems and tracking sales performance data across key KPIs : profit margin, ATV, stock holding and turns.
