Mindshare is part of GroupM, which oversees the media investment management sector for WPP, the world’s leading communications services group.

The Account :

Nestlé is one of the biggest clients within the Mindshare / GroupM portfolio. The central team provides global thought-leadership, coordination, comms planning and reporting services.

Job purpose :

This role is crucial in managing the relationship between Mindshare / GroupM Worldwide and Nestlé, delivering the central team day-to-day output to the highest standards, and contributing to the team and business’ longer-term plans.

It spans responsibilities equally across Client Leadership / Account Management and Digital, to delivera breadth of work ranging from thought-leadership / best practice, network support, rolling out strategies and managing their implementation (e.

g Cereal Partners WW), investment and competitive reporting and analysis, dashboard development and management, and project scoping and management.

The Business Director will also gain exposure to all specialist teams across the agency.

Reporting structure :

The Central Nestlé team is a fully integrated team of approx. 10 people. The Business Director will report into the Client LeadershipPartners, working closely with the rest of the team, and managing 3 direct reports (account director, account manager, account executive)

Principal responsibilities :

  • Manage the day to day relationship with the Global Nestlé clients, working closely with theNestlé Global Head of Media, to win hertrust and become a core advisor for future engagement
  • Anticipate client needs, the challenges they face, and work with the Partners to develop action plans for addressing issues and championing ideas which drive innovation and best practice
  • Oversee key strategic initiatives to support the clients and the network, including developing training programmes and processes, creating best-in-class learnings, and building the client’s digital understanding and skillset through strategic guidance and thought leadership
  • In support of Nestlé’s vision for leadership, develop and deliver the global vision in digital (with strong emphasis on thought-leadership), support the network in making this come to fruition at local, in-market levels, using bestpractice from around the world
  • Lead the day-to-day team output, and provide day-to-day operational support to the Partners on all projects, ranging from thought-leadership and network best practice, to brand strategies and investment analysis reports, working with core markets and internal specialist teams
  • Serve as a core point of contact for GroupM / Mindshare local market teams around the world, with ability to help source information and address local needs
  • Be responsible for overseeing preparation of reports and provide interpretation of data trends and strategic implications / insights for the client
  • Market our successes sourcing and sharing award entries and case studies across the markets and with the Global client to raise the profile of the central team’s capabilities and drive revenue
  • On SBUs : work with the global clients, brand teams and creative agencies to develop central strategic guidelines and roll them out to markets.
  • Oversee the team, and manage day-to-day operations and resources in line with the agreed scope of work.

    Main Challenge :

    A top client for GroupM / Mindshare, Nestlé is highly demanding in both client management at senior level, technical digital understanding and the ability to formulate and articulate strategic needs, winning over local teams and agency partners.

    Due to the level of client profile, the Nestlé account it often an incubator and driver of key agency-wide initiatives, with management oversight from the Worldwide / European CEOs and Worldwide Head of Digital & Strategy.

    In addition, client exposure is frequently c-level, making the role idealfor candidates who are looking for challenge and recognition.

    As a result, candidates must have the ability to deliver under pressure, with genuine innovation, passion and vision.

    Key Skills & Experience :

  • Proven demonstrable media agency experience, with global networks,working on large multi-national clients.
  • Practical understanding and experience across all communication channels, and experience in talking confidently about the role for digital in the overall communication strategy
  • Must have experience in leading media planning and buying
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret and apply research and consumer insight into strategic thinking and campaign implementation
  • Proven experience in client leadership, with ability to manage mid to senior level clients.
  • Significant working knowledge and experience with FMCG Global brands / clients - critical
  • Demonstrableproject management experience (strategy development through to campaign delivery)
  • Must have experience supporting, developing and managing junior team members
  • Strong written, presentation and verbal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize deliverables with team and client to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Strong organisational and management skills a must.
  • Responds to changing workloads and priorities with a flexible approach and consults Partner where appropriate.
