Internal Auditor required for the expanding Enterprise Risk practice of our international consultancy client. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of client engagements in Scotland including large-corporates, government, academia, and public sector bodies.
You can expect to work with high level client personnel and drive high-quality work products.
Your key responsibility will be to undertake and deliver on engagements in the Internal Audit and Controls space, managing multiple internal and external stakeholders.
The projects that you will work on will vary, and may include internal audit and internal control framework reviews. You may assist on other projects, including enterprise risk management, governance risk and control or performance improvement.
Support the execution and daily deliverables of a portfolio of client IA projects
Monitor and manage client engagement budgets
Work effectively in a team, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication, and updating senior team members on progress
Develop risk and control matrices; create test plans and clear working papers to document test results
Co-develop action plans to improve processes and address control and process weaknesses
Prepare reports that will be delivered to clients and other parties
Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel
Contribute to a positive team environment by demonstrating consistent commitment and optimism toward work challenges
You will be a part or fully qualified CA / ACCA / ACA / CIPFA with a technical background in either internal or external audit.
In addition, you will be able to demonstrate :
Good understanding of core business processes, associated risks and leading practice controls
Understanding and documenting processes, identifying and evaluating risks and assessing whether controls are designed effectively and mitigate risks
Using data analytics and a questioning mindset to challenge when analytics could and should be used
Familiarity with quality, risk management and financial management requirements
Ability to engage with and manage multiple stakeholder communities and cross functional projects
Business acumen - compile information quickly and accurately, testing data and assumptions
Tailoring recommendations to address issues
Good stakeholder management of senior client personnel
Self-awareness when dealing with others, able to adapt your own approach to differences in individual style and backgrounds, recognising the risk of unconscious biases
