Global Risk is a thriving and expert riskmanagement function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of riskmanagement.

The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types,including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical,operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatorycompliance, market and reputation risks.

In this role, you will :

  • Deliver a number of complex analytics projectswithin a team, ensuring results are timely and accurate, supporting junior teammembers and offshore analysts as required.
  • Contribute to the project plan by maintaining a recordof time spent, raising issues and slippage appropriately, keeping stakeholdersand project manager informed on a regular basis.
  • Prioritise planned projects and tasks, whilsteffectively managing and challenging requests for unplanned or ad-hoc work.
  • Be accountable for the integrity and accuracy ofdelivered results.
  • Positively contribute to the vision and strategy ofthe department, working with the management group and being a role model forjunior analysts.
  • Develop and maintain a productive relationship withthe offshore analytics teams.
  • Takes a lead in briefings for team members / stakeholders on progress of work, sharing knowledge, successes andopportunities
  • Communicates confidently with junior team members,stakeholders and peers
  • Identifies solutions to emerging risk issues,changing priorities, project completion issues and areas of conflict,
  • Challenges established policy and procedures, whereappropriate and suggests alternatives. Maintaining compliance with regulatoryand documentary requirements
  • Draws, formulates & communicates conclusionsfrom own work, recommending further actions, where required
  • Qualifications

    To be successful in this role you should meet the followingrequirements :

  • Knowledge and experience of the major productsuites in RBWM and / or CMB, especially Buy to Let products.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of how statistical modelsand data driven business rules are applied effectively to credit portfolios.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projectswithin a team, delivering results on time and on budget and managing own timeeffectively.
  • Highly developed analytical skills to extractinformation from data and translate to business language and financial impacts.
  • SQL / SAS programming. Capable of writing complexmacros, data extraction queries, producing structured analysis datasets andperforming statistical analyses and tests against the data.
  • Ability tomanipulate output to business-friendly reports.

  • Ability to present complex statistical concepts andresults in a way tailored to the audience in a persuasive and compelling way.
  • The baselocation for this role is either Birmingham, Leeds, Chester or Sheffield
