Recent examples of our work include projects for Marvel, Disney, Lucas Film, Legendary Entertainment, Universal, 20th Century Fox, Warner Brothers, Sony, HBO, EA and many more.

The Third Floor London is looking for an Unreal TD and Engine Developer to work within the Technology department. The ideal candidate will come with extensive Unreal Engine experience.

They will work with our visualization teams to support their work on shows and well as working with the R&D and Pipeline teams to develop tools and apps for the internal teams and clients.

Responsibilities :

Work directly on shows to create custom, show-specific tools, and solutions

Support the visualization teams with exporting Assets and Animation from Maya to Unreal and back

Helping troubleshoot artist problems and issues with TTF proprietary Mercury Maya / Unreal Pipeline

Support the project teams with the technical implementation in Unreal

Support the rendering of shots out of Sequencer in Unreal

Support the use of built-in and proprietary Unreal based VR / AR tools on shows

Support performance profiling and run time efficiency efforts

Work with the Technology team to evaluate new technology for use at the studio and identify areas of improvement in current workflows

Responsible for making builds of in-house tools and plugins

Essential Skills :

1-2 years of industry experience

Proven communication and problem-solving skills

Extensive knowledge of Unreal Engine, including Blueprints, Sequencer, profiling, FBX workflows

Comfortable with the Unreal build system

Excellent understanding of version control

Proven games industry experience, with a Technical Director credit on at least one published title

Desired Additional Skills :

Scripting experience Python preferred

Knowledge of C++ and the ability to write Unreal plugins

Solid understanding of the VFX pipeline & DCC tool experience - Maya, Motionbuilder, and Nuke

Familiarity with traditional filmmaking workflows, roles, and departments

Slate / UMG (Unreal UI systems)

Understanding of VR and AR

Experience building for iOS devices and a working knowledge of the Apple Development environment

Understanding of Virtual Production tools and techniques

Excellent communication skills at all levels, both on a technical and creative basis

Artistically as well as technically inclined
