Head of IT Operations - Marsh Technology

We are looking for an experienced Head of IT Operations to manage daily administrative operations for a large Technology Team.

Reporting into the Global Head of Strategy and Planning, your work will be a critical factor in our overall performance.

The goal is to ensure the smooth running of business according to established policies and vision.

The Head of IT Operations partners directly with the main stakeholders in the business on key projects and initiatives, enabling the effective execution of Marsh Technology’s priorities.

As Head of IT Operations, you will support the Marsh Tech Leadership on the oversight and implementation of strategy, day to day business management and operational agenda.

The Head of IT Operations plays a critical role in managing and ensuring the flow of information and facilitating key deliverables, expanding the bandwidth of CIO and the Leadership team allowing them to take on a broader depth of issues and to focus on key and critical clients and relationships, driving the success of our strategy.

  • Serve as a general adviser and strategist for the Marsh Technology Leadership team by assessing risks, noting opportunities, setting overall goals and metrics, and proposing projects or systems to move the company forward.
  • Manage the progress and execution of selected work streams and drive accountability to enhance the productivity of the Marsh Technology team.
  • Collaborate with Communications to create and / or coordinate internal communications and content.
  • Maximize the impact of affiliations with key constituencies and stakeholders by creating and managing an outreach and engagement strategy.
  • Build relationships with key internal and external business partners, including HR, Talent Acquisition, Global Sourcing, Finance and others, driving accountability at every step.
  • Collaborate with CIO and other Marsh Tech Leaders to prepare and coordinate strategic plan presentations and other critical business updates.
  • Provide regular department and business-specific updates to the CIO, advise on trends, opportunities and risks and create action plans.
  • Partner with the CIO to prepare for and lead regular executive meetings, operational reviews, strategy sessions and / or offsite meetings, and manage the tracking and delivery of action items and deliverables.
  • Management of Function of IT’; responsible for improving the efficiency of the IT function by managing the time of the executive leader incl.
  • the planning to prioritization of tasks, set meetings and diffuse work conflict.

  • Function of IT includes : Review and constantly optimize the Functional of IT’ deliverablesCollaborate with MMC Tech to define the Tech TOM of the futureManage all aspect of the IT governance incl.
  • the high level management of IT risk e.g. the extension of the Clear the Road’ program to ensure its positive impact for years to comeCreation and update of the yearly Objective and Key Results (OKR) overviewManagement of technology budget, actively tracking rolling forecast (budget, forecast and actuals);
  • regularly perform financial analysis incl. benchmarking of critical IT KPIs to optimize IT investmentsLead strategy for vendor and external partnerships incl.

  • vendor license renewal tracking and monitoringDevelop, track and control the annual budgets for purchasing, staffing and technology deliveryReview and help source internal and external talent;
  • articulate required tech talent skills and competencies

    What you need to have :

  • Proven experience in an Operations Management role
  • Executive presence, ability to influence and exceptional organizational skills
  • Solid understanding of business functions (HR, finance etc.) as well as knowledge of fiscal planning, budgeting and reporting
  • Ability in decision-making and problem-solving
  • Effective negotiation and vendor management skills
