Barclays have 3 branches on the Isle of Man that the successful applicant will work across - our flagship branch is based in Douglas and there are 2 sub branches based in Castletown and Ramsey.

As a Branch Manager you will define, own and deliver a branch business plan by leading, engaging and empowering a multi-

skilled, high performing team to deliver exceptional customer service, help people achieve their ambitions in the right way and maximise branch performance.

What will you be doing?

  • You will be working collaboratively to define the Branch’s short, medium and long-term business plan and provide contribution to the development of the Community Business Plan
  • You will be managing a team of 15 team members which could include an Assistant Manager, Operational Banker or Community Banker’s
  • You will be accountable for leading Mortgage Advisors, Premier Banking Managers and Barclays Business Managers who may be located in the branch
  • You will be leading on the execution of the business plan by connecting with all branch colleagues and customers, to ensure high levels of engagement and focus.
  • You will be using and embeding the resource planning tools to create flexibility and capacity in order to maximise customer service and colleague wellbeing at all times
  • You will connect regularly with the community in which you serve, in order to respond to changing needs in a forward thinking manner and maximise external opportunities
  • Connecting with the broader team to maximise the local marketing opportunity by developing an external market and community profile to enhance the Barclays brand
  • You will be using existing performance and development framework to ensure that all staff understand what is expected of them, performance levels and how potential can be reached
  • What we’re looking for :

  • To have self-awareness of performance and development needs and proactive in growing own capability and career with Barclays.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with the Assistant Manager to ensure the branch operates compliantly and delivers exceptional customer service at all times
  • The ability to create a culture of empowerment and lead the team of branch and specialist colleagues to work collaboratively, meet customer needs and deliver business performance
  • The ability to work through conflicting priorities and complex situations associated with managing bigger sites
  • Skills that will help you in the role :

  • Previous extensive experience of leading within in a customer facing role where customer service is paramount
  • A proven ability to manage and resolve complaints and queries to a high level of satisfaction
  • Comprehensive knowledge and accountability for recruitment and performance management processes and decisions
  • Experience of having worked in a financial and regulatory environment

    We have three offices in the Isle Of Man situated in Ramsey, Castletown and in the heart of Douglas, the main town on this idyllic Island.

    The three Barclays offices are surrounded by good quality shops and it’s only a 5 minute walk to a beautiful harbour with numerous sea view restaurants and bars from any branch.
