With five world-renowned hospitals, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is full of opportunity if you are looking to develop your healthcare career.

We are an NHS Trust of 12,000 people, providing care for over a million and a half patients from north west London and beyond every year.

We have a rich heritage and an ambitious vision for the future of our patients and local communities.

With our partners, Imperial College London, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and The Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust, we form Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre, one of 6 academic health science centres in the UK, working to ensure the rapid translation of research for better patient care and excellence in education.

We are proud of our heritage in innovation and we are early adopters of new insights in technologies, techniques and treatments for improving health.

Are you looking to further your experience in Clinical Haematology, at an internationally-recognised centre and as part of a forward-thinking and friendly team?

The Clinical Haematology Department at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust are currently welcoming applications for enthusiastic and highly-motivated Clinical Fellows (ST1-2 equivalent) for full-time, fixed term positions providing clinical support at Hammersmith Hospital.

We have two positions currently available, with opportunities for flexible contract lengths and for either an immediate start or to join the team from Feb 2021.

The Clinical Haematology service is principally based on the Hammersmith Hospital site and covers the whole range of blood diseases, including malignancies, stem cell transplantation (autologous, sibling, family mismatched and unrelated allogeneic procedures), haemostasis and thrombosis, immune haematology, anaemias, haemoglobinopathies and haemolytic disorders.

The clinical haemato-oncology service is internationally renowned for the management of patients with chronic myeloid leukaemia and our bone marrow transplant programme, for which we are one of the leading centres.

We are also a leading centre for immune haematology, haemoglobinopathies and coagulation disorders.

The successful candidates will join our current SHO rotation, comprising 3 deanery trainees and 7 trust grade positions, and will be involved in all aspects of patient care, with duties on the wards, in our day care unit and in outpatient clinics.

The Clinical Fellows will participate in a 1 : 9 resident on-call rota at night, covering solely haematology patients.

This post is not recognised for training by the Deanery, but the successful candidate will benefit from consultant-led education and supervision, and will be keenly supported in their professional development.

On joining the department, there will be opportunities for teaching and training, as well as to be involved in research and the possibility of rotational experiences with other departments on the Hammersmith site.

This role post would be suitable for those at FY2 and CT level and would provide an excellent foundation for those interested in a career in Haematology, as well as GP trainees and those looking to broaden their experience more generally.

At Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust you can achieve extraordinary things with extraordinary people. You’ll be working with leading clinicians pushing boundaries in patient care.

Become part of a vibrant team living our values - expert, kind, collaborative and aspirational. You’ll get an experience like no other and will fast forward your career.

Benefits include opportunities for career development, flexible working and wellbeing, plus a staff recognition scheme. Also, take advantage of optional benefits including the cycle to work and car lease schemes, season ticket loan or membership options for onsite leisure facilities.

All of our hospitals have quick transport access to the Westfield shopping and leisure centre, the West End and a range of local bars, cafes and restaurants - ideal for team socials!
