Café Andaluz restaurant is part of the DRG Group which are family owned, independent restaurateurs with over 20 restaurants in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

Founded in 1985 with Glasgow institution Di Maggio's. Joining Café Andaluz you would be coming to work for an established business.

Role

As the hospitality sector deals with the reopening and new guidelines on how we can operate, your role will be crucial to ensure customers and staff are safe to allow everyone to have an enjoyable visit to the restaurant.

You will focus on ensuring all of our covid measures are being adhered to and to provide the teams with support and advice if any issues arise.

Job responsibilities :

To monitor customer and staff compliance with covid measures in the workplace and report any potential problems to head office

To perform regular and additional cleaning duties in high contact areas e.g. customer and staff toilets, restaurant areas, bars, entrances, stairwells and till points.

To monitor compliance with gathering of customer contact details for NHS Test and Protect and to assist staff and customers to gather requested information efficiently.

To monitor queuing on entry during busy times and remind customers of the need to maintain social distancing in the restaurants

To check and update signage and procedures in the restaurants as and when guidance changes.

As part of a large team you may be required to help in other areas of the business

SKILLS NEEDED

The ideal candidate will be a self-thinker who can deliver on every promise and make our guests’ experience the best it can be! You will have a positive and outgoing personality.

They will have great customer service and communication skills, be able to demonstrate initiative as well as being a strong team player.

Experience working in the hospitality sector and specifically within a front facing role is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

You will be committed to working flexible hours on a shift basis.

BASIC EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS PACKAGE

Eight hours of 1-2-1 support with an Employability Advisor during month 1 -2 of the placement.

Initial in-work support, including all aspects of first stage employability skills

Topics : Attendance, Time Management, Communication, Teamwork

INDUSTRY SPECIFIC TRAINING

Two training courses

Course examples : Customer Service and First Aid

PROGRESSION SUPPORT

A further eight hours of 1-2-1 support with an employability advisor during month 5 and 6 of the placement

Topics covered : Career advice, Goal setting beyond placement, CV preparation, Mock Interviews, Progression Plan, Job matching
