VWS Westgarth Ltd is part of VWS Oil & Gas Europe; itself a grouping of three business collectively reported through the parent, Veolia Water Technologies (VWT).

VWT is in turn part of Veolia Environment SA a French multi-national business. VWS Westgarth Ltd, whose main office is in East Kilbride, Scotland, is a specialist in water treatment systems for the offshore Oil & Gas sector.

We are the world leader in Sulphate Removal Process, which is a sea water treatment system for the offshore industry and we are also specialists in treatment systems for oilfield produced waters.

Our main offshore markets are currently Angola and Brazil where we also undertake the management responsibility for offices in Luanda and Rio de Janeiro.

VWS Westgarth employs more than 160 staff and within our own offices and we work closely with a number of other global Veolia business units on a regular basis.

Role Overview :

You will join the Project Services Department which provides Project Control Services on projects, that include planning, document control and technical publication.

The Project Services department is involved in all stages of the project life cycle including all EPC phases, which you will assist in undertaking directly.

Your skills and expertise will be utilised across a range of international projects, starting in the bid phase, continuing through to award, start up and execution.

Key Responsibilities :

To deliver a resourced robust baseline project schedules (team size dependent)

To co-ordinate and produce project plans and associated documents ( S curves, Histograms, Tabulated man hour / progress data).

Provide the management team with relevant contract information

To promote good working relations with the planning team and other project department and client representatives.

To ensure all planning work is carried out in compliance with Corporate and Project specific procedures.

Assisting with the development and maintenance of Project Planning and Costing Processes to meet VWS Westgarth Business requirements

To provide a business wide service in aggregation of schedule and resource data from all projects to enable strategic business level planning.

Ensuring adequate levels of understanding and competence within the broader business in the use of EVA / EVM systems, tools and reports.

Assist with the development and training of all project planning personnel.

Willingness to travel overseas for meetings and assignments.

Qualifications and Skills

  • HNC or equivalent
  • Specialist knowledge in project control system (Primavera P6) IT / Computer Literature in particular Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel
  • Must be able to communicate with all levels up to top management and project teams to deliver the planning objectives and achieving targets
  • Understands and applies planning theory, process and best practices
  • capable of managing and having a co-ordinated approach to resolving procedural issues in a timely manner
  • Capable of the development and maintaining of performance targets
  • Understanding of lean manufacture, change management and risk management
