We are looking for Casual Control Centre Operators.

You main duties as a Control Centre Operator will be :

To receive incoming calls from vulnerable people who have a Careline System installed

To receive incoming calls from Tendring Residents and act on behalf of the Council out of normal working hours

To monitor the CCTV on behalf of Tendring District Council including checking cameras, reporting faults and burning CCTV

Work in partnership with Essex Police to help reduce crime

Initiate the Emergency Planning process in line with Emergency Planning Procedures

Ensure all KPIs and targets are met in relation to the TSA (Telecare Services Association)

Location : Barnes House, Pier Avenue, Clacton on Sea

  • Tendring Careline has been providing an experienced emergency response team to the community for over 30 years. We currently provide a 24 hour 365 days a year response service to the vulnerable and elderly community in need of emergency assistance.

    The post holder will be required to take emergency response calls and be the first point of contact for our customers, in sometimes difficult and demanding situations.

    You will be part of a Control Centre team working in a busy, fast paced environment. Our Operators are required to provide a professional service, demonstrating empathy for the customer when establishing the reason for their call.

    Our Operators are required to confidently escalate as appropriate to a number of services including the Emergency services and Doctors, carers, contacts and family member.

    Some of the calls may be life critical and require an immediate response, so a calm and confident approach is essential.

    In addition, our Control Centre Operators are responsible for co-coordinating various out-of-hours services including emergency housing repairs, monitoring CCTV and support Emergency Planning Protocols

  • Professional and caring under extreme pressures.
  • Confidence to multitask and prioritise tasks.
  • Excellent IT and keyboard skills.
  • Have a talent for making customers feel special, great customer service skills.
  • Enjoy being part of a team but still have the drive to work on your own initiative.
  • Have a genuine interest in information communication technology.
  • Have an interest in developing skills and abilities.
