Property Strategy Lead Salary
With the continued expansion of the Cornwall Council Property Strategy Team we are offering new opportunities for individuals to join our team.
Cornwall Council is one of Cornwall’s largest employers, with over 5,000 people working directly for us. We also deliver a range of services through our family of companies and other partnerships.
The Council delivers services to more than half a million local people and to over five million visitors a year.
These services include
Care for the elderly, children’s safeguarding, maritime, fire and rescue service, waste & recycling, parks & open spaces, countryside management, economic development, town planning, tourism support, trading standards and county farms.
We deliver these services through our employees who work directly for the Council and through our many other Council owned companies and organisations.
We also have close links with Cornwall’s health organisations, colleges and universities and work closely with the police, town and parish councils and the voluntary sector.
With a competitive employee reward package that attracts, retains and motivates our employees; open plan working environments in most offices, good business systems and a can do culture where talented people thrive, Cornwall Council is a great place to work.
This is an ideal opportunity for those considering a re-location to Cornwall, one of the UK’s most stunning locations! This year 21 of our beaches flew the prestigious Blue Flag and / or Seaside Award flags, plus Cornwall has won British Travel Tourism Award’s Best UK Holiday Destination for the 9th consecutive year (Autumn 2017)!
About the Role
While a number of Local Authorities are reducing their in-house teams, Cornwall Council is creating new opportunities for individuals to join its Property team.
The Council’s strategy is to deliver significant savings for the authority through improving the quality and compliance of its property portfolio and optimising opportunities for a One Public Estate with for example the health service and our care services.
The Property Team are seeking to recruit a Property Strategy Lead and a Property Planning & Strategy Officer to support the Council’s aspirations in rationalising the estate across Cornwall enabling devolution and future growth of the estate in an evolving climate.
This includes supporting other public bodies ranging from the Health Authority, the Police, Local Community Groups and our Housing Team.
These posts are permanent positions. They are full time positions, but we will consider part time applicants. The posts will be based at our main office in Truro with flexible working hours and the opportunity to work remotely at the manager’s discretion.
This post is politically restricted under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
Cornwall Council is committed to safeguarding and is an equal opportunities employer.
