Job Summary

Henry Abram and Sons Ltd (HASL) specialise in Heavy-lift Transportation, Vessel Chartering & Crane / Trailer Hire. The company services a wide variety of industries, with a strong focus on the Oil & Gas and Defence markets.

HASL are currently looking for driven & attentive Project Engineers to join our experienced South Rotunda team.

Job Description

Your key responsibilities in this role will be :

  • Carry out technical work in relation to Heavy Lift Project Cargo Shipments
  • Review cargo drawings and produce stow plans, sea-fastening design and deck strength analysis
  • Create & review lift plans
  • Assist the estimating in team in selecting suitable vessels and equipment for jobs
  • Liaise with clients and sub-contractors to manage Heavy Lift Project Cargo Shipments
  • Attend the loading of cargo as the responsible party to look after the client’s interests and ensure cargo is loaded to plan
  • Manage change in the office and on site
  • Supervision of sub-contractors such as hot workers, lashing crews and stevedores
  • Review and comment on Project Cargo documents and drawings as expert third party for warranty and third party assurance purposes
  • Attend the loading of cargo as surveyor to act as independent witness and ensure client’s sub-contractors follow their plans
  • Qualifications and Experience Requirements

  • Higher level qualification in an engineering subject is preferred
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Site experience is essential
  • Appointed Person’s ticket beneficial
  • Clean Driver’s License required for attending meetings and site work
  • In addition to the required academic qualifications & experience above, the following personal skills & abilities are key to this role :

  • Organised the role requires good organisational skills to ensure the work is carried out on time
  • Diligent delivery of projects is reliant on staff being responsible and ensuring their tasks are carried out properly and on time
  • Good communicator project success is based on maintaining good lines of communications between clients, sub-contractors, project staff and management
  • Technical Aptitude role requires the ability to carry out calculations and understand and produce technical drawings
  • Salary

    Available on application & dependent on previous experience.
