Job Description

Carnival UK is back sailing the world, and we now have two brand new ships joining our fleet! This means that our business is expanding to allow us to continue creating unforgettable holiday happiness for our guests.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Digital Product Team as a Product Owner on a permanent basis. This role is critical to ensuring our guests have a seamless and inspiring pre-cruise digital experience .

The Role

  • In this role you will be scoping and prioritising initiatives, directing the activities of the development team, and collaborating with Product Managers in driving and delivering the product roadmap for the pre-cruise websites for our two great cruise brands P&O Cruises and Cunard
  • You will be delivering a programme of continuous development, a key role in the agile development team. Working closely with the Delivery Lead, Product Manager
  • and business stakeholders to deliver a monthly programme of feature releases in partnership with the agile scrum teams - including solution architects, offshore developers and test teams.

  • You will translate and communicate the product vision, backlog and priorities to the development team based on value so that their intentions are understood and applied.
  • You will also take ownership of agreed features and business owner relationships, writing and refining user stories for development scoping and sizing, holding regular sync meetings to keep Product Managers(s) up to date with roadmap movements and facilitate / own key agile ceremonies.

  • You will define the sprint goals and influence the roadmap development. In addition
  • you will contribute to the delivery of the agreed product roadmap of features; ensuring relevant subject matter experts (SMEs) are consulted at all stages to make the result fit-for-purpose, whilst ensuring optimal return on investment (ROI

    for our Capital and Operating expenditure.

    For at least two days a week, you’ll be based out of our fantastic offices in the heart of Southampton, less than two hours from central London.

    In our hybrid working environment, you can also expect to balance this with time spent working remotely every week.

    About You

  • To be successful in this role it’s likely you’ll have previous experience within a n Product Owner role, along with in-depth knowledge of Agile processes and principals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation skills along with the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels will also be key to success! .

    If this role requires you to visit and / or work on a Carnival UK ship, the successful candidate needs to be fully vaccinated (with a WHO or MHRA approved two-dose COVID-19 vaccination course or single-dose Janssen COVID-19 vaccine), including any relevant booster vaccinations.

    This is to maintain a safe environment onboard and reduce the risk of outbreaks, to protect our crew and our Guests. It's also required for ships to dock and enjoy shoreside visits in many Ports of Call on global itineraries.

    This requirement will be under regular review.

    About the Team

    As part of our Shared Service function, our Technology teams enable us to take our guests all over the world on our ships as well as supporting our colleagues at Carnival House and other locations globally.

    This encompasses everything from the design and build of new ships, to guests booking their holidays through our websites and contact centre, to ensuring that on-board applications and underlying infrastructure enable a fantastic guest experience and everything in between.

    Our teams manage all the tools and technologies that our shore side teams need to operate effectively and they collaborate regularly with colleagues in our North American and European sister brands across the Corporation.

    Technology draws on a diverse mix of skills across Architecture, Strategy & Digital, Infrastructure & Operations, Information Security, Compliance & Risk, Portfolio Management, Planning and Governance.
