Design Installation & Integration Lead Engineer

Are you a qualified Mechanical Engineer, working in the Aerospace, Automotive or Rail sectors? Do you have current Design expertise, using CATIA?

This would be the perfect opportunity to apply and develop your experience, working on existing and new projects, with one of AKKA’s key customers in the Aerospace sector.

Taking overall responsibility for the technical delivery of the project delivering the Design Installation and Integration activities for the landing gear on behalf of our client.

With your background in Mechanical Engineering, your primary responsibility will be to provide technical and project leadership to the team of engineers as well as being the main technical point of contact for our customer.

Key Tasks & Accountabilities

Typical DMU & Design Installation & Integration tasks

  • DMU activities around management of Landing Gear System integration, including clearance studies, modification impact assessment, interface management
  • Support Engineering for Design Studies
  • Perform Interface and Interference Studies on CAD, transferring / updating historic drawings
  • Support Design Reviews with engineering and provide all necessary documentation (Checklist)
  • Support Customer data and drawings through Customer’s required PLM systems ensuring proper protocol and file preparations are met

    Skills & Knowledge Required

  • A relevant degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong knowledge and experience in CAD tools CATIA V4, V5
  • DMU integration experience Fuselage, Wing, Landing Gear
  • Design Data or Configuration Management experience
  • Experience of stakeholder management
  • Strong interpersonal skills; creativity with independent judgment; driven to find a solution and fix problems, persistent, with a keen eye for detail
  • Experience of any PDM or VPM tools
