  • Job Duties
  • Work with the Manager, Trade Services and Head of Trade and Asset Services to formulate and implement the function’s strategy.
  • Ensure the function is structured in a manner that supports a global operating model; with focus on team structure and workflow organisation.

    Proactively manage the Trade Processing Team (covering Securities, Repos, Foreign Exchange and Money Market Deposits). Proactively engage with key stakeholders to understand future requirements and how these can best be serviced.

    Ensure team structure supports the service provision to support a global operating model and workflow is organised appropriately.

    Identify processes and service enhancements, or potential risks, to ensure the global client service provided is of the highest standard and remains fully compliant.

    Manage the resolution of complex outstanding items, business issues and rectify anomalies to ensure high-level of customer service.

    Actively own, track and feedback to global stakeholders on all team initiatives. Undertake quality assurance of work to ensure errors are minimised.

    Represent the team and department in a professional, collaborative, and commercially aware manner, developing good working relationships with all internal and external parties.

    Ensure the system infrastructure is robust, trusted and supports the longer term department strategies and enables efficient global operational service delivery in compliance with all internal and regulatory requirements.

    Maintain detailed knowledge of global operational processes and systems. Continuous review of team procedures, policies, systems and issues.

    Recommend changes to procedures and implement, ensuring that they are globally scalable, repeatable and efficient. Participate in department wide reviews of procedures where appropriate.

    Work collaboratively with manager / staff, fostering credibility and influence towards developing a reputation of operational excellence across the firm.

    Work collaboratively with peers to share best practise and create awareness of issues throughout the department. Work collaboratively with peers in US and Asia Operations teams.

    Ensure superlative service levels are maintained to both internal and external parties. Produce insightful and meaningful MI reporting to management highlighting trends, analysis, errors.

    Responsible for sharing market information to relevant internal departments. Identify issues / changes which impact teams across Global Operations / LGIM.

    Work closely with service providers to ensure service provision supports our business requirements. Recruit, manage, develop and engage team members seeking continuous improvement in both quality standards and productivity.

    Ensure team proficiency through pro-active performance management. Proactively identify training and development needs of staff which provide a focus for delivery in line with department objectives and Global Operations strategy.

    Maintain technical capability for job, keeping abreast of market and industry developments. Robust management and implementation of projects / initiatives.

    Challenge established methods, explore and promote new ideas or ways of working with the buy in and enthusiasm from team.

  • Skills Required
  • Strong technical investment process knowledge / experience relevant to role. Proven experience of managing a team, equivalent to like functions.
  • Strong experience / skills in oversight controls. Demonstrable people management skills and proven experience of delivering change.

    Constantly challenge established methods and to look at promoting new ideas with the buy in and enthusiasm from your team.

    Proven track record of dealing with and influencing upwards to more senior managers. Collaborative and personalised approach to service commitment, delivery and continuous improvement.

    Confident liaising across Front Office and Global Operations environments. Evidence of effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

    Flexible, adaptable and able to multi-task in a fast paced and changeable environment. Ability to grasp issues, find creative and innovative solutions to problems.

    Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget. Ability to successfully debate and subsequently influence internally & externally Ability to represent the team / department internally (including at senior management level) and externally to clients or at industry forums.

    Strong communication skills both verbal and written, with an ability to articulate issues clearly and logically. Strong analytical and written skills.

    Developed presentation skills.
