Role Profile :
Working under the direction of the Duty Manager the Level 4 Engineer will carry out maintenance activities on communications systems to ensure effective restoration / repair of customer systems.
To undertake maintenance activities to ensure effective restoration / repair of customer systems and all associated processes and reporting requirements are followed.
To diagnose and interrogate communication system failures using event monitoring tools and provide technical support to ensure effective restoration of customer systems.
Typical Deliverables :
At least 3 years combined Test and Repair experience in one of the following Telecommunication / Communication Network System environments / products :
London Underground / TOC / Network Rail Environment.
Station Management Systems.
Public Address PA systems, local and long line.
CCTV, Track to Train systems (RF), long line transmission of video Networks, Digital Video Recorders.
Competent in the use of test equipment required to commission systems to specification.
Computer literate, familiar with application software such as Windows, Word, Excel etc.
The job holder will be required to work outside in all weather conditions, alone and as part of a team on a 4 on 4 off day / night alternating shift pattern.
The job holder will be required to drive company vehicles and therefore a clean, valid driving license.
There may be occasions, as the business deems appropriate for staff to work on other networks.
Business Operations Skills Experience :
Competent on a minimum of 3 system groups.
Undertake both planned and corrective maintenance activities.
Able to complete planned maintenance activities on communications systems against a defined schedule.
Able to undertake first and second line maintenance activities.
Provide detailed reports to enable further investigation of referred faults.
Competent in the use of special tools & test equipment required to maintain systems to specification.
Business Operations Skills Qualifications :
IRSE Telecoms Maintainer license.
Clean Driving License.
