An exciting opportunity has arisen within the North and West Oxfordshire Older Adult Community Mental Health Team (OACMHT) for a professional and dedicated Deputy Team Manager.

The OACMHT has two bases in Banbury and Witney. This Post is Full time (1.0 WTE) in our Witney Base. Our Older Adults Community Mental Health Team provides a range of services including a Memory Service, Care Co-ordination, Mental Health Assessment & Crisis Intervention, Enhanced Duty Response and Step up care.

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic registered Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist who is interested in developing their skills in the management of people, and who wants to make a difference in the services that we provide.

We provide person centered assessment for our patients with the aim of providing timely assessment and diagnosis following the first appointment and care close to the person’s home.

We work closely with external agencies including social services to meet the complex needs of our patients. We provide assessment, treatment and step up care, the staff in the team work on a Rota covering shifts from 09.

00 to 20.00 (weekdays) and 09.00 to 17.00 (weekends).

You will be expected to deliver and maintain high quality and person-centered care for our patients. You will therefore need to be a highly skilled and motivated practitioner who has extensive experience of mental health services and can demonstrate the ability to teach and lead others.

A caring and committed attitude with a strong understanding of the needs of older adults with dementia and a variety of mental health needs is essential.

A good working knowledge of safeguarding and process to manage risk is required. Excellent communication skills are essential for this role.

The team is highly supportive and committed to delivering high quality patient care where the caseload can be demanding, diverse and frequently complex.

As Deputy Team Manager you will be a leader and provide Line management and supervision to several junior clinicians and be expected to support the Team Manager with Service development.

You will also be expected to hold a small complex case load and take a lead role within the Multi-disciplinary team including chairing team meetings and ensuring that patient care needs are met by the CMHT.
