Over view :
Responsible for daily colour grading of images for the duration of the entire shoot. Test workflow end to end in advance of show start, process camera and other imaging tests.
Supervise and train other team members. Works directly with Film’s Director and / or Director of Photography, Finishing Colourist and other stakeholders as required.
The role is mostly night work and requires flexibility with regards to working hours and due to the nature of production shoot schedules.
Image and audio ingest following best data practices at all times.
Sync audio to picture via timecode and adjust as required.
Check consistency of footage against camera, sound, and script supervisor reports.
Colour grade images in accordance with stakeholder requirements.
Responsible for thorough QC and timely accurate reporting, ensuring that issues are escalated appropriately and within time expectations.
Ensure technical accuracy throughout workflow for all team members.
Communicate concerns with above processes internally in a timely fashion.
Liaise with stakeholders as required during the shoot to ensure customer satisfaction.
Related dailies duties as assigned by the production team deemed required for the show.
Oversee and sign-off downstream deliverables.
Experience & Skills :
Experienced as a Dailies Colourist working on Feature Film and Episodic TV
Proficient understanding of colour space and camera formats
Proficient understanding of dailies workflow and deliverables
Proficient knowledge of how to interpret camera, sound and script reports
Proficient with scopes
Experience with PC, Linux, and Mac operating systems
Proficient in Colorfront OSD, Resolve and Avid
Understanding of finishing workflow
Understanding of different cameras, lenses, images and artefacts
Understanding QC Procedures
Experience of working with industry standard digital medium, for example hard drives, camera mags LTO tapes etc
Excellent work ethic and positive attitude
Ability to work independently and under pressure and to remain calm in a fast-paced work environment.
