Health Education England working across the North East and North Cumbria (HEE NE) is recruiting maternity cover for an experienced Band 7 Programme Support Manager with exceptional drive and self-motivation.

Based in the North East local office (Newcastle upon Tyne), the post holder works as part of the Training Programme Management Function to deliver a diverse range of projects and workstreams for HEE NE.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a key member of a high performing and innovative team led by the Postgraduate Dean for the North East and North Cumbria.

The remit of the role is an interesting mix of both defined core areas and a range of new short or longer term programmes of work which could be on a local, regional or national footprint.

In terms of the current defined areas, the post holder is responsible for leading and delivering, in partnership with the lead clinicians for each area, the HEE NE SAS (Staff & Associate Specialty Doctors) workstreams and Veteran's Health initiatives.

The ideal candidate will :

  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Have the ability to work confidently with a high degree of autonomy which includes influencing and collaborating with colleagues internally and externally at all levels
  • Have a track record of successfully prioritising and delivering a busy and diverse workload
  • Have excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • The Programme Support Manager is line managed by the HEE NE Training Programme Management Head of Function. There is currently no line management responsibilities with the role.

    This position is maternity cover due to end mid July 2021.

    Interviews will be held on Tuesday 2 June 2020.

    Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 7 with a full-time starting salary of £38,890, with pay step increases after 2 years’ service and 5 years’ service.

    These salaries are offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions and the HEE Pay Progression Policy and are subject to annual cost of living review.
