It's More Than Just A Job

If you want to make a difference to people s lives, then come and join us supporting people with disabilities to lead the best life possible.

You will be part of a vibrant, enthusiastic team supporting people to live as independently as possible with support that is personalised and individual.

The Herts & Essex services offers support to adults with disabilities who may be living in a residential setting or in their own home.

Some services offer a 24 hour service so you need to be available to work on a shift basis, including some weekends.

About the role

Every day is different " you may be supporting people with their personal care, meal preparation and household tasks. Some people attend the Day Opportunities service which is available onsite as they may enjoy woodwork, gardening or pottery.

You may support people to go shopping or enjoy what our local town has to offer - clubs, sports activities or meeting friends for a coffee.

You may support someone to attend their GP appointment or visit family or sometimes just to sit alongside and chat about their day.

You may also get the opportunity to accompany the people we support on holidays and attend training courses and other activities.

As there are Hft vehicles available onsite it would be useful, although not essential, if applicants hold a full UK / EU Driving Licence.

We have opportunities for full and part time hours " which may range from 7.30am to 10pm depending on your shift and location of work.

About you

You don't need experience of support work or any special qualifications for this job - you'll get plenty of training along the way.

It's great if you already have experience of learning disabilities, autism or dementia, but this is by no means essential.

What matters most is your positive attitude to life and your desire to support people to live their life with as much independence, choice, dignity and control as possible.

You will need to use your own initiative and have a creative, willing approach so that we can support people to the highest standard.
