The team

Our Volume & Consumer Business has a long-standing experience of working with some of the most successful and influential businesses in the UK and also internationally.

Our specialist teams combine expertise with a sound understanding of the commercial landscape to provide exceptional solutions for every aspect of our clients’ corporate requirements.

We offer services to consumers under the Lime Solicitors brand, and to high volume business clients under the Corclaim brand.

This role will service our high volume business clients.

The Corclaim brand is dedicated to servicing clients with large scale and repeated legal needs. We currently deliver the following practice areas via Corclaim : debt recovery, asset finance, cost drafting and uninsured loss recovery.

Corclaim creates market differentiation through its processes, infrastructure and technology. This allows us to deal with the vast quantities of legal work our clients need to provide services to their customers at scale.

The role :

We are looking for a First Notification of Claims Handler to provide administrative support to our legal teams within the Volume and Consumer Business, focused on delivering an excellent service to our clients.

Our First Notification of Claims Team based in Birmingham services the administrative requirements of the teams within the firm’s Volume and Consumer Business, which includes : Uninsured Loss Recovery (Corclaim), Debt Collection and Asset Finance, and Costs & Negotiation.

We will consider applications from candidates either looking for Full Time or Part Time / Job Share opportunities. Preferred part time hours will be full days with a minimum of 3 working days per week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Your key duties will be :

  • opening claims on the firm’s financial system and case management systems
  • using a case management system to process and progress queries and workflows
  • undertaking conflict searches
  • undertaking preliminary enquiries on each Uninsured Loss Recovery claim including DVLA searches and driver questionnaires
  • assisting claims handlers with the processing of claims
  • sending letters before action (LBA’s) to third parties
  • drafting own correspondence and documents
  • sourcing witness questionnaires
  • informing the client on the progress of a claim and taking new instructions over the phone, by letter or email
  • assisting with general administration including photocopying, scanning, archiving, filing, cheque requests, billing and file management
  • identifying personal injury claims and referring to the appropriate team
  • answering telephone queries
  • processing incoming and outgoing post
  • maintaining data on Excel spreadsheets
  • Skills and experience you will have :

  • a minimum of grade C pass at GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
  • competency with IT systems to include Microsoft Word and Excel
  • previous experience within an administrative capacity is desirable but not essential
  • No legal experience is necessary for this position, as training will be provided. Applications are welcomed from candidates with non-
