Role Focus Developing battery system performance maps and parameters using virtual and physical methods Calibration and modelling of battery pack Battery modelling in MATLAB / Simulink / GT Suite Responsible for battery system electrical performance requirements, product validation plans, and delivering validation tasks (Virtual and Physical) Developing battery system performance maps and parameters using virtual and physical methods Calibration and modelling of battery pack Interpret vehicle level requirements into battery system requirements Model battery behaviour and estimate performance during drive cycles Develop control strategies to meet performance and life targets Performance issues resolution ownership Support BMS calibration Support battery performance testing Create Can configurations for test procedures Support vehicle performance integration and development Key Skills Required Degree in relevant engineering discipline with a minimum 3 years relevant experience.
Experience of defining and / or using appropriate 1D and 3D CAE analysis tools to design, verify and optimize electrical performance.
MATLAB / Simulink Understanding of CAN and ability to use Experience of typical BEV and PHEV battery system solutions and technologies.
Strong people skills and the ability to work individually and in a cross functional team Work experience to project manage a design through to production and manage several parts across multiple vehicle programmes Problem solving using standard 6-sigma templates and processes Experience Required A degree qualification is preferred Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.
Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
