The advertised post is split between two services in Oldham. These are the Home Treatment Team (HTT) and Secondary Care Psychology (SCP)
The Home Treatment Team provides intensive support in the community for people aged 16-65 who are experiencing an acute mental health crisis.
Secondary Care Psychology is the psychological therapies service attached to Oldham's Community Mental Health teams and provides a psychological service to clients with moderate to severe mental health problems.

Applications from newly qualified Clinical Psychologists with appropriate experience will be considered on a Band 7-8a preceptorship.
Main duties of the job
The role within the HTT (0.5 WTE) will focus on assessment, formulation, consultation, supervision, and training, with brief pieces of psychological intervention where appropriate.
The post will be line managed within HTT. Clinical Supervision will come from the In-patient Clinical Psychologist.
The role with SCP (0.4 WTE) will involve assessment, formulation, consultation, and supervision, alongside holding a caseload of therapy clients.
This part of the post will be line managed by the SCP Team Manager. Clinical Supervision will be provided in line with therapeutic modalities wherever possible.

During HTT hours you will be based within an MDT working closely alongside the professionals in HTT to support the team and their clients.
During SCP hours you will be based in a thriving psychology department with a mix of clinical and counselling psychologists, CBT and CAT therapists, and assistant and trainee psychologists.

Disclosure Barring Certificate check
All of our new starters, who are appointed to a post which requires a Disclosure Barring Certificate check (DBS), will be recharged for the full cost of the check (DBS checks for volunteers are free of charge).
An enhanced DBS check costs £40 and a standard check costs £23 (plus an administration charge of £3.50). If you are a substantive member of staff, the full amount will be taken from your first month’s salary.
If you are a member of staff on our bank, you will need to repay the full amount from your first salary.
We encourage you to register with the DBS update service at an annual cost of £13 (this is mandatory for bank staff).
